Common questions
Do I need to sign up?
No. Pagefellow starts with an anonymous account, so you can read right away. Use Sign in with Apple in Settings if you want to keep your library and notes when you change or reset your iPhone.
Does Pagefellow sell books?
No. Pagefellow offers reading services: book maps, letters from characters, quizzes, conversations with characters, reading circles and listening. You read your own books or free public-domain and openly licensed books from the library.
Which files can I upload?
EPUB, PDF with selectable text, and plain-text files up to 20 MB. DRM-protected and scanned files are not supported. Upload only books you have the right to read. Uploaded books are private to you.
What is a book map?
A guide to the book’s characters, relationships, timeline, places and themes, together with letters from characters and chapter quizzes. It only shows what you have read so far, so it never spoils the story. The three demo books on the home screen include one for free. For other books, Pro includes 1 Book Map credit each month, and you can buy extra Book Map credits. Pagefellow shows the maximum credit cost before you confirm.
Will answers spoil the book?
Answers and recaps only use the pages you have read. If you choose the whole book, Pagefellow asks you to confirm first.
Why can’t I talk with characters in a book I uploaded?
In this version, conversations with characters are available for library books only.
How do reading circles work?
Create a circle from a library book and send the invitation link. Invitations expire after 7 days, and a circle can have up to eight readers. Notes unlock for each member when they reach the passage the note is attached to. You can report or block members from the circle.
An invitation link says it has expired.
Invitations last 7 days. Ask the person who invited you to send a new link.
How do shared conversation links work?
When you share a conversation with a character, you pick up to six turns. Anyone with the link can see them for 30 days. You can revoke the link in the app at any time, and it stops working if you delete the conversation or your account.
Is my reading used to train AI?
No. Your notes, questions, conversations and uploaded books are used only to provide the features you use, and are not used to train AI models.
Where is my data stored?
In the United States, and AI requests are processed by providers hosted in the United States. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which languages does Pagefellow support?
The app is available in 20 languages. Book text and quotations always stay in the book’s original language; everything else follows your app language.
Restore purchases
Bought Pagefellow Pro or book map credits and don’t see them? Restore them:
- Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple account you used to buy (Settings › your name › Media & Purchases).
- In Pagefellow, open Settings › Pagefellow Pro.
- Tap Restore Purchases. You can also tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of any upgrade screen.
If you used Sign in with Apple before, sign in again with the same Apple account first so your library and notes come back too. If restoring does not work, email us with the date of purchase and the order ID from your Apple receipt.
Cancel or change Pagefellow Pro
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel or switch between monthly and yearly:
- On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Pagefellow, then pick a different plan or tap Cancel Subscription.
In Pagefellow you can get to the same screen from Settings › Pagefellow Pro › Manage Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date (or before a free trial ends) to avoid being charged. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Purchases are billed by Apple, and Apple handles refund requests. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple account, choose the Pagefellow purchase and select “Request a refund”. We cannot issue refunds directly. If making a book map fails, the credit is returned to you automatically.
Delete your account
- If you have Pagefellow Pro, cancel the subscription first (see above). Deleting your account does not stop Apple billing.
- In Pagefellow, open Settings and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. You can follow the status until deletion is complete.
This permanently deletes your account and its data on our servers: synced library, uploaded books, progress, highlights, notes, conversations, circle memberships and the notes you shared in circles. Your share links stop working. It cannot be undone, so export your notes first if you want to keep them (Notes › share button). Details are in the Privacy Policy. If you can no longer open the app, email us and we will help.
Report a problem with content
To report a note, a member or an AI answer, use the report option next to it in the app. You can also block a member of a circle. For copyright concerns, email wecwinning@gmail.com (see Terms of Use).
