Terms of Use

Last updated October 19, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Pagefellow app and service. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Pagefellow you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Pagefellow. “Pagefellow”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the Pagefellow service.

2. Who can use Pagefellow

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pagefellow. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf. Pagefellow is currently offered in the United States App Store.

3. Accounts

You can start with an anonymous account or use Sign in with Apple. An anonymous account lives on the device that created it: if you remove the app or lose the device without signing in, you may not be able to recover that account’s data or purchases tied to it. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete Account.

4. What Pagefellow provides

Pagefellow is a reading companion. We do not sell e-books. What Pagefellow offers is a set of reading services: book maps (characters, relationships, timelines and themes), letters from characters, chapter quizzes, conversations with characters, questions answered from the text, recaps, reading circles and listening.

  • Library books are public-domain or openly licensed editions provided free of charge. Their availability depends on your App Store region, and we may add or remove titles.
  • Demo books on the home screen include a ready-made book map, letters and quizzes so you can try these features for free.
  • We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance.

5. Books you upload

You may upload EPUB, PDF or plain-text files (up to 20 MB each) that you own or otherwise have the right to read. You are responsible for the files you upload. Do not upload files you obtained illegally, and do not use Pagefellow to share copyrighted works. Uploaded books are private to you and are never shared with other users. Pagefellow does not remove DRM. The number of uploaded books you can keep may be limited.

6. Your content

Your highlights, notes, questions and other things you write belong to you. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display and transmit them only as needed to provide the features you use, such as sync, AI features, circles and the share links you create. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept for the limited periods described in the Privacy Policy.

7. AI features

  • AI output is generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Answers point to the passages they use so you can check them.
  • Letters from characters and conversations with characters are creative AI interpretations based on the original text. They are not the author’s words, and quoted passages are shown in their original language.
  • By default AI features use only the part of the book you have read. If you choose the whole book, the answer may reveal later events.
  • AI output is not professional advice of any kind (for example medical, legal or financial advice).
  • Do not use AI features to generate content that breaks the law or these terms, or try to extract another user’s data.

8. Circles, sharing and conduct

A reading circle is a private group of up to eight readers reading the same library book. Invitations expire after 7 days. Members see the notes you post in the circle and, unless you turn it off, your reading progress. When you share a character conversation, anyone with the link can see the turns you selected for 30 days, or until you revoke the link.

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or impersonate others, or post hateful, sexually explicit or violent content;
  • spam, or post content that infringes someone else’s rights;
  • reveal later parts of a book to people who have not reached them, outside the way circles unlock notes;
  • interfere with the service, bypass its limits, or access it by automated means other than the app.

You can report content or members and block people in the app. We review reports and may remove content, remove members from circles, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

9. Pagefellow Pro subscriptions

Pagefellow Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks more of Pagefellow’s AI features.

Pagefellow Pro plans
PlanReference price (U.S.)RenewsFree trial
Pagefellow Pro Yearly$59.99 per yearEvery year7 days, for eligible new subscribers
Pagefellow Pro Monthly$9.99 per monthEvery monthNone
  • Price. The price shown in the app and on the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm is the price you pay. Applicable taxes may be added. Prices may change; Apple will notify you of a price increase and, where required, ask for your consent before it applies.
  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free trial. If you are eligible, the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, available once per Apple account. Apple decides eligibility. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial converts to a paid yearly subscription at the price shown by Apple before purchase. The trial includes 50 AI credits and no Book Map credits, not a full paid monthly allowance. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
  • How to cancel. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Pagefellow and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also open Settings › Pagefellow Pro › Manage Subscription in the app. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your Pagefellow account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Switching plans. Both plans are in the same subscription group, so you can have only one at a time. If you change between monthly and yearly, the effective date and any billing adjustment follow Apple's verified transaction. A plan change does not issue a second allowance for the same period.
  • Refunds. Purchases are processed and billed by Apple, and Apple handles all refund requests under its policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. To request one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the related Pro access or credits are removed.
  • Restoring purchases. Open Settings › Pagefellow Pro › Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple account you used to buy.
  • What Pro includes. All four reading assistants, whole-book mode, roundtable and “What would you do?” modes, with 500 AI credits and 1 Book Map credit each month. New generation uses the relevant credit balance and still has fair-use and service-budget limits. Annual plans issue monthly allowances, not a whole year at once. Monthly included credits do not carry over; purchased credits do not expire.
  • Sharing in circles. When the creator of a reading circle has Pro, members can use Pro assistants and character conversations for that circle’s book. This is a feature we provide, not a transfer of the subscription, and it does not include credits. It ends if the member leaves the circle or the creator’s Pro ends.

10. AI and Book Map credits

  • There are two separate balances. AI credits support questions and character conversations. Book Map credits make a map or unlock an existing map; longer books can require more than one credit. Neither balance is a book purchase or a cash exchange rate.
  • Book Map packs contain 1 credit or 5 credits. AI packs contain 100, 500, 1200 credits. Either type can be purchased without a subscription; Pro-only features still require Pro. Current localized prices come from Apple's purchase sheet.
  • We show a maximum credit cost before you confirm. One question is not always one credit: context length, model routes, the number of characters or book length can change the quote. Included expiring credits are used before purchased credits.
  • Only successful, quality-checked results are charged within the accepted limit. Unused reservations and definite failures or cancellation release the user's credits; failed supplier calls are an operating cost. If an outcome is unknown, the original reservation remains while it is reconciled, without starting a second charge.
  • Reading aloud uses your device's voices and is free. Pro does not include unlimited AI generation.
  • Purchased credits do not expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred and cannot be exchanged for money.
  • When someone in your reading circle unlocks the book map of the circle’s book, other members can view it at no charge for as long as they stay in the circle.
  • Refunds for credits are handled by Apple as described in section 9.
  • A refunded purchase reverses the related credits. If they were already spent, only that asset may have a debt that prevents further spending; a refund never becomes an automatic new purchase.

11. Free features and limits

Reading, highlights, notes, export, circles and device-voice listening remain free; uploads have a saved-book limit. A verified Apple identity may receive 20 welcome AI credits once. Reinstalling, changing devices or recreating an account does not renew the gift. This is not a recurring daily AI allowance. Pro has separate monthly credit allowances and fair-use limits; buying more credits does not bypass safety, regional or service-budget limits. Existing issued allowances keep their recorded quantities for the current period.

12. App license (EULA)

The Pagefellow app is licensed to you, not sold. Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), together with these Terms of Use. These terms are an agreement between you and Pagefellow, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Standard EULA and may enforce it against you. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict about your license to use the app, the Standard EULA applies.

We respect copyright. If you believe content available through Pagefellow infringes your copyright, email wecwinning@gmail.com with a description of the work, where it appears, your contact details and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We will review the notice and remove infringing material where appropriate, and we may close accounts of repeat infringers.

14. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Pagefellow and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law, or to protect other users or the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. Ending your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple account settings.

15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Pagefellow is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise that the service or AI output will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Pagefellow. Our total liability for any claim relating to Pagefellow is limited to the amount you paid for Pagefellow in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Pagefellow after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

17. Contact

Questions about these terms: contact enci wang at wecwinning@gmail.com, or use Settings › Send Feedback in the app.
